contemporary art

Typical problems

Contemporary art encompasses a wide range of materials utilised in many ways, which can lead to a number of different problems, depending on theContemporary art material used and the nature of the piece. We have treated contemporary pieces made from material including glass, ceramic, plastic, wood, resin, metal and textiles as well as non-traditional materials such as chocolate! The problems we see with contemporary art are largely dependent on the material from which the piece is made and the way it is used, but can include surface losses, missing elements, structural failure of joints, surface stains and dirt, and scratches.

Treatment options

Our treatment methodology for your contemporary art will be devised specifically for your piece. It will take into consideration factors such as the age of the piece and the material/s from which it is made, current storage/display locations, artist intent and past, present and future use.

Please contact us to discuss how we can help with your contemporary art piece.
