An Interpretation Plan or Strategy is an important document, as it provides policies, strategies and detailed advice for the interpretation of a heritage site or area. It identifies key themes, storylines and audiences, and provides recommendations about interpretation devices, including construction, use and maintenance. It includes information about how best to implement the strategies identified in the Plan through integration into the existing site. It is based on research and analysis, with the main aim being to communicate the significance of the heritage site or area to a variety of audiences through a number of different methods.
