Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helene, perth
This church, which is listed on the Western Australia State Register of Heritage Places, contains a number of significant wall and ceiling paintings which had unfortunately suffered damage as a result of water ingress to the building. Our work on this project involved cleaning and stabilising all areas, repairing physical damage and inpainting areas of paint loss.
- Cleaning and conservation of interior
- Removal of overpaint
- Infilling and inpainting losses
- Backing and restretching the large canvas which formed the apex of the dome
This project generated a great deal of interest from the Hellenic Community of Western Australia. In order to keep community members informed of our progress during this project, we maintained a blog during our work on site which provided regular updates regarding our progress, as well as providing details about the conservation work we were undertaking.
