The Site

Exploratory excavations at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery were completed in 2008 with an aim to investigating the underground storage vaults that formed part of the 1820s Bond Store complex. Conservation advice was provided regarding the proposal to display the excavated archaeological remains to the public.

Services

  • Recommendations for immediate protection of the open excavation.
  • Stabilisation recommendations for in situ features and excavation trench.
  • Specifications for the design of a protective shelter over the exposed archaeological remains.
